Client of The FTC Obtains First Government Contract

If someone were to ask me, “What is your greatest career achievement?” without hesitation I’d say, “Obtaining a General Services Administration (GSA) contract for my employer, Glover & Associates, Inc.” The process of obtaining a GSA contract from start to finish is intimidating for the first timer, and no one needs to tackle the acquisition of a GSA contract alone.

Soon after discovering the services offered by The Federal

Technology Center (The FTC), I began taking advantage of free classes, seminars, and one-on-one procurement counseling. "The FTC Procurement Assistance Program is priceless, and I owe my success in obtaining Glover’s first GSA contract to Bill Teeple, Senior Counselor/Instructor. Bill patiently reviewed every page of my three inch document prior to its submittal. I took notes while he explained everything in layman’s terms, and then I went back to my office and incorporated the changes and used his suggestions for submitting a pristine GSA offer. If I hadn’t met with Bill, my hefty package would have been sent back to me for corrections and the final acceptance date would have been extended by several months.

Glover is a small business with headquarters in Roseville, California. We employ fifteen dedicated professionals and support staff that provide professional security and telecom systems consulting and design services for the following markets: aviation, commercial, high rise residential, health care, local, state and now federal government. Glover has been in the consulting business for over eighteen years, but when it comes to doing business with the federal government, we’re new kids on the block.

Over the next few months, Glover will market its services using a GSA Contract Marketing List supplied by The FTC. We have high hopes that opening the doors to doing business with the federal government will give us a competitive edge. An increase in revenue will provide the funds needed to hire and train additional security/telecom systems, design professionals and the ability to better serve our clients.
