Congresswoman Doris Matsui Welcomes Small Business Constituents

The Greater Sacramento small business community responded enthusiastically to Congresswoman Doris Matsui’s recent outreach events, designed to help them learn about federal contracting opportunities. Held at California State University Sacramento on June 30 and Sacramento City College on August 6, each event included experts from federal agencies that provided information about how to do business with their agencies. The Federal Technology Center also offered an overview of its services for small business, and a demonstration of the Federal Business Opportunities website, FedBizOpps (https://www.fbo.gov). Agency exhibitors offered contract forecasts and discussed their opportunities with participants. Of special interest was a presentation by the Director of the Sacramento Small Business Administration (SBA), Jim O’Neal, who discussed SBA loan programs, including several new opportunities offered through the SBA.
