September 10-13, 2000

The FTC worked with JPL, NASA, the University of Missouri at Columbia and the Northwest Innovative Business and Technology Center to host a conference entitled: Applications of Geospatial Information- A Western Regional Workshop Serving State & Local Government Users.

The Workshop was held September 10-13, 2000 at the Hyatt Regency, Sacramento, CA.The Workshop focused on dialog and case analysis of opportunities for geospatial technology in natural resource management, urban planning and infrastructure, transportation, agriculture and forestry, environmental quality, public health and emergency management. The intent was to follow the application process from problem and issue identification, data acquisition and integration options through information extraction and scenario modeling, to economic assessment of outcomes and recommendations for implementing cost-effective operational capability. In so doing, The FTC worked to identify opportunities for public-private partnerships and pilot projects.
