Small Businesses are invited to Make their Contracting Connection with Sacramento Municipal Utility District Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) and The Federal Technology Center (The FTC) have teamed up to provide training and outreach events for small businesses on contracting with SMUD. Through this partnership, small business owners will have the opportunity to learn how to contract with SMUD and to network with SMUD executive managers and purchasing staff. The first joint event, Make Your Contracting Connection with SMUD, has been scheduled for June 7, 2006, 8 am to 1 pm. This free event will be held at the SMUD Headquarters Auditorium, 6201 S Street, Sacramento, California. A continental breakfast will be provided by SMUD. Selling to agencies like SMUD requires the small business owner to understand the agency’s specific buying methods and requirements. During this event, attendees will receive training on how to do business with SMUD; learn what products and services SMUD will be buying in the upcoming year and how to market to SMUD buyers; meet the decision makers – SMUD leadership and SMUD buyers; learn how to register as a vendor to receive notice about upcoming projects; and learn how the California Small Business Certification can help a business compete for SMUD contracts. Established small businesses that are good at what they do and are interested in selling their products or services to SMUD should attend this event. A list of the types of products and services purchased by SMUD is available on The FTC’s website at www.TheFTC.org/smud. To register for this event, go online to www.TheFTC.org/smud or call The FTC at 916.334.9388. For more information about SMUD, go to www.SMUD.org or call ### |
