Coming to Bakersfield May 13: Small Business Forum - Opportunity to Learn about Federal, State, and Local Government Contracting Resources

The Federal Technology Center (The FTC) will present the Small Business Forum, a government contracting resource and networking event on May 13, 2006, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Business owners that are interested in learning
about federal, state, and local contracting opportunities in Kern County and neighboring counties should attend. The Small Business Forum will be
held at the Doubletree Hotel Bakersfield, 3100 Camino Del Rio Court,
Bakersfield, California.

California Assemblyman Kevin McCarthy from the 32 nd District is the keynote speaker. The luncheon features Yolanda Bazan Benson, Deputy Secretary, California Business, Transportation and Housing Agency.

Small businesses can take advantage of this opportunity to learn about free contracting resources available to help their businesses prosper; learn how to sell their products and services to federal, state, and local government agencies; meet purchasing representatives from the presenting government agencies; and learn what types of products and services these agencies will be purchasing in the upcoming year. There will be ample opportunity to network with speakers, federal, state, local agencies, and other small businesses in the exhibit area.

Presenting government agencies include General Services Administration (GSA); Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB; NASA Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards AFB; Naval Air Station, Lemoore; Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake; U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA); California Department of General Services (DGS); City of Bakersfield; County of Kern; Kern Community College District, and Bakersfield College Weill Institute Small Business Development Center ( SBDC).
