December 15, 2005

The Federal Technology Center (The FTC) is pleased to announce that Vikki Hawthorne, Supplier Outreach Program Manager from the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC), will be speaking at two conferences in Northern California. This is a rare opportunity for California contractors, vendors and manufacturers to learn more about how to sell to DSCC.

Conference dates and locations are as follows:

  • Tuesday, January 24, 2006 , 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
    Del Paso Business Information Center
    925 Del Paso Blvd.
    Sacramento , CA 95815
  • Thursday, January 26, 2006 , 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
Cal State East Bay Small Business Development Center ( SBDC)
1000 Broadway, Suite 109 (at 11 th Street)
    Oakland , CA 94607

Manufacturers and commodity suppliers capable of supporting DSCC’s primary customer, the United States military should attend these conferences.

DSCC is one of the largest suppliers of weapons systems spare parts and manages more than 1.6 million different items for more than $2.3 billion in annual sales. DSCC is the lead Inventory Control Point for land, maritime and missile weapons systems.

DSCC issues thousands of contracts each month, many for lower dollar amounts that may not be advertised through conventional government resources. Attendees will learn how to obtain information about those opportunities. The conference will also cover some of the electronic systems used by DSCC, including Department of Defense E-MALL, the Defense Logistics Agency Bid Board System (DIBBS), and how to access drawings and technical data electronically.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity! Admission to the conference is free, but pre-registration is required. Register early because seating is limited. Register online at www.TheFTC.org. For questions, call The Federal Technology Center at 916.334.9388 or 866.382.7822 toll-free.
