Small Businesses Can Now Attend Free Government Contracting Classes in New AT&T Wireless Computer Lab
The FTC partners with the AT&T Foundation to provide hands-on training
January 17, 2006

The Federal Technology Center (The FTC) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the AT&T Foundation, the philanthropic arm of AT&T Communications, Inc., to provide free government contracting classes to small businesses in the new AT&T Wireless Computer Lab at The Federal Technology Center. The AT&T Wireless Computer Lab has been made possible through an AT&T Excelerator Grant, an AT&T Foundation sponsored program that uses technology to provide education to underserved populations.

The FTC is a not-for-profit public benefit corporation that promotes economic development by facilitating technology transfer between government and the private sector and by helping small businesses successfully compete for government contracts. The FTC’s government contracting experts will teach the following free hands-on classes in the AT&T Wireless Computer Lab:

  • E-COMMERCE for Government Contracting
    Dates: February 23, April 27, June 15, August 10 and October 12

  • GETTING STARTED with Government Contracting
Dates: March 23, May 11, July 13, and September 21

These classes will provide businesses the opportunity to gain a solid foundation for using technology in government contracting. Small business owners will experience hands-on training using wireless laptop computers to access key government procurement websites and to learn government e-commerce processes. These classes can benefit the small business owner just
getting started in government contracting or looking for some experience in government e-commerce technology.

All classes will be held at The Federal Technology Center, 4600 Roseville Road, Suite 100, North Highlands, California.

Admission is free, but pre-registration is required. Class size is limited to the first six people who enroll. Register online at www.TheFTC.org. For questions, call The Federal Technology Center at 916.334.9388 or 866.382.7822 toll-free.
