Tom Gisler Chief Executive Officer THE FEDERAL TECHNOLOGY CENTER TGisler@TheFTC.org Tom Gisler is the Chief Executive Officer of The Federal Technology Center (The FTC) located in North Highlands, California. The FTC is a not-for-profit, public benefit California Corporation dedicated to Federal Technology transfer and economic development in the Sacramento region. Incorporated in 1995, The FTC's mission is to be the scientific and educational link between public technology resources, government contracting agencies, small businesses and academic institutions. On April 6, 2005, The FTC was presented a national award as the OUTSTANDING PROCUREMENT ASSISTANCE CENTER FOR 2005 – number one of 93.

He currently serves as a member of The National Advisory Committee for the Federal Laboratory Consortium; The University of California Davis Office of Research and External Research Advisory Board (ERAB); and is a previous member of the Air Force Reserve Command Career Management Board.

Mr. Gisler’s previous work includes thirty-five years in the Air Force of continuous leadership experience in positions of ever-increasing responsibility from Second Lieutenant to Brigadier General. He held command positions of an air refueling operations group, an air mobility operations group, a regional support group and he was the Vice Commander and Commander of an air refueling wing. He also was the Wing Commander of an airlift wing and the largest associate air mobility wing in the Air Force. He has held a variety of other operational and staff positions at several locations around the globe including a four month deployment as the Director of Mobility Forces in the Central Command (CENTCOM) Area of Responsibility. He acted as the senior air mobility authority to the Commander of the Air Forces. In that capacity he was responsible for all air mobility movement, coming into, exiting, and internal to the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility covering a distance of more than 5,400 miles and 13 countries. He also directed and approved the first ever operational high altitude Joint Precision Air Drop in the history of the Air Force. He was a command pilot with more than 4,500 flying hours in a variety of aircraft.

In his local community he has been active in various charitable and outreach programs including Operation Give Hope helping the veterans of the Yountville Veterans Home have a better quality of life. In addition he has supported Operation Teddy Bear which provides over 1,500 teddy bears every year to disadvantaged children in nine local schools. He has been involved for over 30 years with Christian Children’s Fund, Inc. helping to meet children’s needs in third world countries around the world.
